I'm a UNIX / Linux computer Consultant / Administrator.
I've been interested in Hinduism, Jainism & Buddhism for many years.
I first met a Krsna devotee on the North Carolina - Tennessee border when I was coming back from vacation (in North Carolina). He tried to sell me a copy of the Bhagavad Gita (as it is), I was out of money and told him I had a copy of Bhagavad Gita but translated by a different person. He told me to read the book. Quite a few years later I found a Hindu / Jain Temple about 30 miles (48 km) from my town. I went there one day and met the priest (i.e. Pujari) Sharmaji, I talked to him for a while and then asked him "What is the best translation of the Bhagavad Gita?" He told me the best was by Prabhupada. I found a copy on ebay (a 1977 edition). A few months later Shantiniketan Temple had "An evening of Krsna consciousness". I went and met Mitra Dasa, he told me about Prabhupada Village, it was only 80 miles (128 km) from where I live. I've been to Prabhupada Village a few times and plan on going again.
I was also fortunate to meet Jayadvaita Swami at Shantiniketan Temple.
