Hare Krishna. Thanks for inviting me to be your friend. I haven't been very good about coming to the site, but hopefully that will change!
Hare Krsna! glad to hear the spirits are up! heres a quote for u:
"one should not trust his mind, which is so fickle that it can give way to enemies at any moment. The mind is always accompanied by six enemies-namely, käma, krodha, mada, moha, mätsarya and bhaya-that is, lust, anger, intoxication, illusion, envy and fear. Although the mind may be merged in spiritual consciousness, one should always be very careful in dealing with it, just as one is careful in dealing with a snake. One should never think that his mind is trained and that he can do whatever he likes. One interested in spiritual life should always engage his mind in the service of the Lord so that the enemies of the mind, who always accompany the mind, will be subdued. If the mind is not engaged in Krishna consciousness at every moment, there is a chance that it will give way to its enemies. In this way we become victims of the mind."

by HH Sacinandana Swami:
An answer to Krishna’s sometimes mysterious ways may lie in the following quote from the Saranagati songs of Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakur.
"All the troubles encountered in your devotional service are great causes of happiness, for in your devotional service joy and sorrow are equally great riches, both destroy the misery of ignorance."
I can see this in my own life, when in recent years I had to undergo much physical hardship and a certain degree of insecurity. I often asked myself: "Will I ever be pain-free again?"
By this "hammer treatment" the gold of our heart is formed and we become ornaments for the Lord. But only if we have faith in Him! Otherwise we doubt whether there is a merciful Lord.
It is not always easy to carry through with our faith when we are on our knees and hands like babies, weeping in pain. But after the pain we notice that we have become more detached and more attached to eternity and our Lord.
When the pain is so intense I say to myself: I am now preparing for my physical death- my release from central jail.
Of course, the actual preparation is being able to positively absorb our consciousness in Krishna. That is our real wealth-the coins and gold pieces of absorption are our irrevocable investment in our bank account of eternal love.
May we use both "good" and "bad" times to invest in our real life-our life with Radha and Krishna.
nice story...
A water bearer in India had two large pots, each hung on one end of the pole he carried across the back of his neck. One of the pots had a crack in it, and while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water at the end of the long walk from the stream, the cracked pot arrived only half full. This went on every day for two years, with the bearer delivering only one and a half pots of water to his master’s house.
Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishment and saw itself as perfectly suited for the purpose for which it was made. But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its imperfection and miserable that it was able to accomplish only half of what it had been made to do. After two years of what it perceived as bitter failure, it spoke to the water bearer one day by the stream. “I am ashamed of myself and I want to apologize to you.”
“Why?” asked the bearer. “What are you ashamed of?”
“For the past two years, I have been able to deliver only half my load because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your master’s house. Because of my flaws you have to work without getting the full value of your efforts,” the pot said.
The water bearer felt sorry for the old cracked pot, and out of compassion he said, “As we return to the master’s house, I want you to notice the beautiful flowers along the path.” Indeed, as they went up the hill, the old cracked pot took notice of the sun warming the wildflowers on the side of the path. The pot felt cheered.
But at the end of the trail, the pot still felt bad because it had leaked out half its load, and again it apologized for its failure. The bearer said to the pot, “Did you notice that there were flowers only on your side of your path, but not on the other pot’s side? That’s because I knew about your flaw and took advantage of it. I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back from the stream, you’ve watered them for me. For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate my master’s table. If you were not just the way you are, he would not have such beauty to grace his house.
Moral: Each of us has our unique flaws—we’re all cracked pots. But a compassionate and expert devotee can engage us in the Lord’s service, and then we can be useful, despite our defects.
Hare Krsna prabhu...u know, wen i logged in today, i did so especially to send u a message, as i have not seen u online for a while, and was concerned....please, dont ever give up your search...we are all struggling...and we may seem like we have more knowledge, but this is not the case...it is the bhakti, that is important...philosophy helps take u there, but doesnt get u there...it is bhakti(love). please dont give up, we all go through ups and downs in our spiritual life, like the waves of an ocean...but if we have a qualified boatman(guru), he will take us across this ocean of material miseries...to our destination...u must associate with our acarya guru...Srila Prabhupada, through his books and instructions...then Krsna will surely lead you to your spiritual master...dont worry about this too much...it will all happen gradually. You Can See Govinda in Your Heart
We are worshiping Govinda, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the original person. And this song we were just singing—govindam adi-purusam tam aham bhajami—is reaching Him. He’s hearing it. You cannot say He’s not hearing it. Especially in this scientific age, when radio messages are broadcast thousands and thousands of miles so you can hear them, it is easy to understand how Govinda, Krishna, can hear your sincere prayer.
Similarly, just as you can see a television picture transmitted from thousands and thousands of miles away, you can always see Govinda in your heart if you prepare yourself properly. This is stated in the Brahma-samhita [5.38]: premanjana-cchurita-bhakti-vilocanena santah sadaiva hrdayesu vilokayanti [Bs. 5.38]. There is a television within your heart; it is not that you have to purchase the television set—it is there in your heart. And God is also there. You can see Him, you can hear Him, you can talk with Him, provided you repair the machine. And this repairing process is Krishna consciousness.
Now, to repair a television an expert technician is required. Similarly, you require the help of someone expert in the science of Krishna consciousness. Then the machine in your heart will work and you will be able to see Krishna. This is the perfection of yoga. [...]
