I first met a sankirtan devotee in Georgetown, Washington DC when I was 17 with some other school mates and took a BTG and gave him a donation. About four years later I'm standing in the same location distributing BTGs all shaved up chanting Hare Krishna. I took initiation in 1977 from His Holiness Satsvarupa das Goswami at New Hastinapura DC temple. Did all kinds of service over the 30 years that I've been involved. From cooking the offerings for the deities and feasts, doing pujari service, grounds keeping, heading up bhakta programs, book distribution, managing the Philadelphia temple four years and starting a couple of temples in Africa. Running food for life programs and fundraising for the cow population at New Vrindavan. I would say I did it all by the grace of guru and Gouranga.
Now, I can't say much is going on in my life. I'm mostly working on my own music project called The Yogi Poets spreading the holy names in a laid back fashion. Trying to reach out to the fallen souls who ordinarily have nothing to do with any spirituality. On the path as a free spirit making his own choices trying to remember the teachings and implementing them the best I can. Hare Krishna!
