About me

I am fairly new to Krishna Conciousness. I have been aware of it in this life for roughly 7 years, but have only recently become more seriously interested. I am currently reading the Bhagavad-Gita, and plan to read more Vedic literature in the future.

Oh! One more thing, I noticed your post about coming from Christianity to Krishna Consciousness. I found a few websites you'll really dig.

Christ and Krishna pt. 1

Christ and Krishna pt. 2

It's about Jesus and whether or not he went to live in India, in a Jagannatha temple, to learn from the Brahamanas. It's quite moving.

I would say that Krishna Consciousness has given me more of an understanding of Christianity, really. All of the things that Jesus taught were how to be conscious of God. Veda and I were also talking about this during our prasadam. Because of the time and place Jesus was teaching, he probably help back a lot of the depth, because they were from different cultures, classes, etc.

Alright, i'm done rambling now, seriously
Haribol!

Haribol!

You know, I came on Krishna.com, after I got home from the temple, to look you up and add you. Now, I see that we had already been friends! amazing. It was good to meet your material body. haha.

Do you go to the temple every Sunday? I'm going to start going every Sunday, or try at least. I was talking with Veda, the temple president, while we had prasadam, and he said they have Harinam Sankirtan every Wednesday, which sounds like a whole bunch of transcendentally good times.

I've also talked with him about going to stay in the temple for a week after Christmas. A couple of devotees in the chat room suggested I go out to the Dallas temple to stay for a week or so, to get the feel of the ashram life, but I can't afford to make it out to Dallas. Plus, the Atlanta temple is so wonderful too. The devotees said it would really help jump start my purification. I'm sure that I will learn a great deal in a very short time. He said that I could bring along any friends that wanted to come too. Maybe you would like to come spend a few days there too? I'm going from the 28th to the 3rd of January.
They're having a huge kirtan to bring in the New Years too. That sounds like a lot of fun. If I remember correctly it's going to last from 10 that morning, or maybe he meant night, until 4 in the morning, or something along those lines. Bringing in the new years in style! haha.

And if you've never seen it, Here's a link to the Live page. There are some really nice classes that come on every day, you can ask them questions, and the chat room has some really nice conversations and associations going on.
