I do not know how much nectar the two syllables 'Krish-na' have produced. When the holy name of Krishna is chanted, it appears to dance within the mouth. We then desire many, many mouths. When that name enters the holes of the ears, we desire many millions of ears. And when the holy name dances in the courtyard of the heart, it conquers the activities of the mind, and therefore all the senses become inert.
Rupa Goswami
- Vidagdha-madhava 1.15

I am not a brahmana, I am not a ksatriya, I am not a vaisya or a sudra. Nor am I a brahmacari, a householder, a vanaprastha or a sannyasi. I identify Myself only as the servant of the servant of the servant of the lotus feet of Lord Sri Krishna, the maintainer of the gopis. He is like an ocean of nectar, and He is the cause of universal transcendental bliss. He is always existing with brilliance.

Padyavali 74

O my Lord, when will my eyes be decorated with tears of love flowing constantly when I chant Your holy name? When will my voice choke up, and when will the hairs of my body stand on end at the recitation of Your name?
Lord Caitanya
- Sri Siksastakam 8

In this age of quarrel and hypocrisy the only means of deliverance is the chanting of the holy name of the Lord. There is no other way. There is no other way. There is no other way.
Brhan Naradiya Purana

The characteristics of Krishna are understood to be a storehouse of transcendental love. Although that storehouse of love certainly came with Krishna when He was present, it was sealed. But when Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu came with His associates of the Panca-tattva, they broke the seal and plundered the storehouse to taste transcendental love of Krishna. The more they tasted it, the more their thirst for it grew.

Although the members of the Panca-tattva plundered the storehouse of love of Godhead and ate and distributed its contents, there was no scarcity, for this wonderful storehouse is so complete that as the love is distributed, the supply increases hundreds of times.

Caitanya Caritamrta Adi-Lila 7:24

For those who have accepted the boat of the lotus feet of the Lord, who is the shelter of the cosmic manifestation and is famous as Murari, the enemy of the Mura demon, the ocean of the material world is like the water contained in a calf's hoof-print. Their goal is param padam, Vaikuntha, the place where there are no material miseries, not the place where there is danger at every step.

O most munificent incarnation! You are Krishna Himself appearing as Sri Krishna Caitanya Mahaprabhu. You have assumed the golden color of Srimati Radharani, and You are widely distributing pure love of Krishna. We offer our respectful obeisances unto You.

Hare Krishna Mataji, I'm glad you liked it. How has everything been in the Dham of Sr Sri Londonisvara? Have you been on any Harinams as of lately by chance? I went on Harinam on Saturday and it was ecstatic, it really inspires me to help people to come to Krishna to save them from all their miseries.

I will :)

Hare Krishna! Yes doing sankirtan is ecstatic :) Jai! I just looked up pictures on your temple website, they are beautiful. The presiding deities in New Biharvan Dham are Sri Sri Radha-Bankebihari. We also have Gaura Nitai, Jagannatha Baladeva and Subhadra, and Giri Govardhana just like in your temple :) The Temple here is one of ISKCON's smaller, but it is very beautiful. It has been called the Jewel of Treasure Valley because most of the work for it (except for the Altar, which came from India) was done by Idahoans here, and not sent for. We are about 5 minutes walk from the Campus, and we have many nice programs there. We are also at the heart of Boise, which is very nice because it is very easy to arrange programs and do harinam.

Yes, I know what you mean. While it is definitely a good thing to teach slokas to the younger children, it cannot be at the cost of their having fun. When I deal with the younger children here and my little brother and sisters, I am always very conscious of "how will this affect their having fun in Krishna Consciousness?" For instance while chanting and slokas is very important, when they are younger they must first get a TASTE for it. That is when we just play Krishna Conscious games with them because when they get older they should have memories of having fun at the temple, not being told they have to chant and read all the time, it is those nice memories that will bring them to the temple. Its like with sankirtan, if you are preaching to a person, and they say "I really like this chanting, but I don't think I can give up meat" you have to see this persons situation. If you say "No! You have to give up meat right away!" They will be scared off, but if instead you say "Alright, just take these beads and this book and keep chanting and reading, and you will eventually get a higher taste" then they will be much more receptive, and will eventually give up meat eating on their own due to chanting. So with children and other teenagers our age, if they are not always so interested in memorizing verses and steadily chanting 16 rounds, a different approach is needed. In this case we must say "Alright, but at least chant 4 rounds everyday, and do so while focusing on the names of the Lord. And try to take up some weekly service at the Temple. See how Krishna has done so much for you, so at least set aside 30 minutes a day to spend with him, and do some service for him." Being treated gently in this way and helped slowly through the process of Krishna Consciousness, the younger devotee will have more of a taste for Krishna Consciousness, and in their own time will start to get more serious, and they shall do this because Krishna Consciousness was made fun for them. I am glad you also understand this, many people turn away from Krishna Consciousness because they are hammered right from the beginning, we must be careful to make sure that peoples earliest memories of their experiences with Krishna and the devotees are pleasant, that way they will want to stay.
