I'm curious about where those statements come from. They're very Krishna oriented, but my experience with Objectivism has only been material -- I never recall Ayn Rand offering any theories or comments about the nature of the soul. If you know of where she may have done so, do tell! I'd love to see it for myself! :)
according to the sastra there are nine states of consciousness, and consciousness is considered the energy of the soul.
They are:
the sense object
the senses
the mind
the intelligence
the consciousness
the soul
Brahman
Paramatma
Bhagavan
Number 1-4 are material, and number 5 consciousness being the energy of the soul is marginal. It can either oscillate on the material side or the spiritual side which are numbers 6-9. Hare Krishna
