how to attend beggars

Hare Krishna...
I am sorry if this has been discussed earlier..I just wanted to clear my confusion through this forum. As we go outside our homes..we find beggars sometimes on roads, sometimes on bus stops, in trains. Some of them are physically fit, some are not. Some are children. My query is how to attend them.. as they expect some kind of help from us.. Presently I don't give money to anyone, but it always leaves a question in me when the beggar is not physically fit or is a children.

Hare Krishna...

From what I understand...

(and I do have limited knowledge)
In the Bhagavad Gita, chapter 9, text 17:

"I am the father of this universe, the mother, the support and the grandsire. I am the object of knowledge, the purifier and the syllable om. I am also the Rg, the Sama and the Yajur Vedas."

In the purport Prabhupada says:

"In the material existence we create different relationships with different living entities who are nothing but Krsna's marginal energy; under the creation of prakrti some of them appear as our father, mother, grandfater, creator, etc., but actually they are parts and parcels of Krsna. As such, these living entities who appear to be out father, mother, etc., are nothing but Krsna."
---
So, from what I get from this text, I assume they should all be treated the same way, whether they are physically fit, not physically fit, a child, or an older person.
Everyone should be treated the same, whether they are your closest friend, or a stranger. Everyone deserves respect as we are all parts and parcels of Krsna.
---
If I am interpreting this wrong I do hope that someone will correct me.

Hare Krishna!
