In most Hindu scriptures and schools of thought, it is believed that atman and Brahman are one. It is only our acceptance of the illusion of the material realm and our chains of karma that separate us from the Divine.
WRONG !! Atma and Paramatma are not one and the same.
The Bhagavad Gita concisely summarizes the teachings of other, older Hindu scriptures, such as the Vedas and Upanishads. Its seven hundred verses are part of a larger epic, the Mahabharata. Most scholars believe that the sacred work dates back to around the third century before Christ.
WRONG AGAIN !! Bhagavad Gita is actually eternal and the message has always been there..
But the message of Bhagavad Gita was re-told by Lord Sri Krishna to Arjuna about 5100 years ago , and not 3rd century B.C .
Srila Prabhupada always stressed that we must only look into authorised scriptures and listen to bona-fide Gurus.
This universal syncretism doesnt fit into that category .
Bcos it is not an Authorised scripture.. and not written or told by a bona-fide Guru.
It looks like it has been created by the author of that website .
How can one rely upon such un authorised message ? which has been created by a man ? which doesnt have God's signature in it..
Everyone of us by using our intellect can create a new religion or message everyday ..
If we are willing to be bewildered and mislead , there will be 100 people waiting to mislead us.
So we must only read authorised scriptures and listen to a bona-fide Guru.
When people think they can create a new religion of their own.. IT CLEARLY SHOWS THE LACK OF GOD IN THEM , because they think they can do something independant of God and independant of God's help.
What's the need of a new religion or message when we have the Vedic literature with us ,which is voluminous and enormous .
There is probably some value to the work of comparative religion, but I think you have to get your facts right to do that work and it would appear there are some assumtions and possible errors on that site.
I wouldn't dismiss the idea totally but I don't disagree at all with what you say. Book knowledge is one thing but realization is what spiritual practive should really be about and this particular example seems to comprise of the former.
"universal syncretism" that sounds like a disease.

This original post is really an advertisement for a web site
Althought is true that Sri Krishna's message is mirrored in other holy texts it can only be recognised properly by one who is surrendered.
These two examples are good indications that the author repeats what he has read rather then speaks from his own realisations. It's quite common.
I removed the link to the website. Does anyone want to elaborate on what Sanjeev has identified in these two quotes.
