Hare Krsna my dear devotees, next September 2 we celebrate here in Brazil the Appearance Day of Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura and this reminds me of the wonderful writings he left for us always showing by example the proper mood of a humble devotee.
The first contact I had with one of his songs was when I listened to Vayasaki Prabhu singing Gopinath, one of my favourites and this brought me a great feeling of love for Krsna, so I am going to share here some of the translated writings of this pure devotee who inspires everyone with his mood of surrender.

Another important writing that tell us all about the chanting of the pure names of the Lord from him is Harinama Cintamani, here there are some parts of it:
Three stages of acceptance of the name
"One who chants the holy name even once is considered a Vaisnava devotee, and the householders should be very attentive to respect such a person. But the devotee who constantly chants Krsna's name is even a better Vaisnava, for he is endowed with all good qualities. The most advanced Vaisnava of all is he who inspires others who see him to immediately chant the Lord's name. When he chants the name even once, attraction to rendering eternal devotional service to the Supreme Lord is irrevocably established. Kindly tell Me how the nondevotees can be made to accept the chanting of the holy name of Krsna."
The spiritual identity of the holy nameSrila Haridasa clasped his hands together. Eyes brimming
with tears and voice choked in spiritual love, he began his reply
in soft, gentle tones.Lord Krsna's name is cintamani, formed of eternal and
transcendental touchstone. Just as a touchstone yields all
desirable objects, so the touchstone of Krsna's holy name gives
religiosity, wealth, sense pleasure and liberation to a materialistic person. To a surrendered devotee, it offers pure love of Krsna.Lord Krsna and His holy name are not different; They are the
one and same Absolute Truth who is the allpervading yet supremely independent form of dynamic spirituality (caitanya vigraha), fully cognizant and full of bliss, without beginning or end. Eternally free of material imperfection (nitya mukta), always situated in pure goodness (suddha sattva), the holy name, identical (abhinna) with He who is denoted by the name (the nami, or Krsna), descends to this world as the complete incarnation of the highest sweetness (rasa). Once going to my gurudevs site I found a very nice song which I didnt know since last year and when I got the translation impressed me because of the mood of surrender and strong desire to achieve pure love of Krsna. I will also share some verses with you:
Kabe Ha'be Bolo - from Saranagati
1) When, oh when will that day be mine? When my offenses ceasing, taste for the name increasing, when in my heart will your mercy shine, when, oh when will that day be mine2) Lower than a blade of grass, more tolerant than a tree. When will my mind attain this quality? Respectful to all, not expecting their honor, then shall I taste the name's nectar sublime. When, oh when will that day be mine?

I would to end this offering to Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakur with one of Srila Prabhupada's favorite song, once in Allahabad and Gorakhpur he fell into trance after singing the first two lines and after some time he came back into external consiousness and said: "Now just chant Hare Krsna" He said this song is a picture of Vrindavan, everything is there - Srimate Radharani, Vrindavan, Govardhana, Yasoda and all the cowerd boys."
Jaya Radha-Madhava - from Gitavali
(jaya) radha-madhava (jaya) kunja-bihari
(jaya) gopi-jana-vallabha (jaya) giri-vara-dhari
(jaya) jasoda-nandana, (jaye) braja-jana-ranjana,
(jaya) jamuna-tira-vana-cari
Krsna is the lover of Radha. He displays many amorous pastimes in the groves of Vrndavana, He is the lover of the cowherd maidens of Vraja, the holder of the great hill named Govardhana, the beloved son of mother Yasoda, the delighter of the inhabitants of Vraja, and He wanders in the forests along the banks of the River Yamuna.
I hope this reminds you of what mood we may have to constantly chant the holy names of Krsna, always begging for service and association of the vaisnavas. Developing this humble state of mind, being fixed in our japa and service, and by developing the process of Krsna Consciouness we can achieve pure love of God and come back home back to Godhead.
May the pure acharya bless us to have the right state of mind to serve the Lord purely.
