In the third installment of guidelines for Japa, Mahanidhi Swami talks about the importance of proper posture, chanting all our rounds in one sitting and pronounciation.
Chanting Techniques
a) “Sit properly.” Yoga sastras proclaim that sitting straight facilitates concentration: “Right posture makes the mind calm” Tantra-raja-tantra 27.59
b) Chant without interruption. Once in Los Angeles, disciples asked Srila Prabhupada what would please him most. “Chant sixteen rounds of japa at one sitting without interruption!” said Srila Prabhupada.
c) Be careful to clearly and distinctly pronounce the holy names.
Firstly Maharaja talks about posture and the aspect of sitting properly - Srila Prabhupada famously said this during Japa. Sitting upright with head straight ahead in concentration is important to stay alert and not give in to sleepiness which is obviously very detremental to good Japa.
Next we have the aspect of chanting without interruption....if you can attain this you will find out the benefits of continuous Japa straight through. It gives us the chance to get in the "Japa Zone" where we are absorbed in the Holy names and getting a taste.
Lastly, clearly and distincly pronounce the Hare Krsna mantra....it's vital that we actually chant all the words clearly, otherwise we are not chanting the actual mantra. Along with pronounciation we should also hear very carefully what we chant.

Effective Guidelines
Hare Krsna Rasa Prabhu,
Thanks again for posting nice guidelines for japa which are very effective to our chanting. I liked the part that Srila Prabhupada stresses the importance of chanting all our rounds in one go and dont interrupt it. That's very difficult but the effects are awesome.

Nice information about
Nice information about Chanting continuously 16 rounds by Srila Prabhupad. So far i have done with few breaks. Next time i will try to do continuously. I can imagine now chanting continuous what kind of conditions that will do.

Chanting All Our Rounds
Thanks for your comments Aruna devi....this aspect of chanting right through is very potent. Aside from following the instructions of our Founder-Acharya, it gives us a very good chance of going deeply into the sound vibration of the Holy names and really absorb ourselves.
