If you are keeping the flute this post might be redundant
At the moment we can move from any page to many other pages by using the drop down menus on the flute
Without this facility we will have to click many more times to get to where we know we want to go. This is the only element that I can see missing across all of the pages posted so far.
I agree with the first poster. I think the ''welcome to the world of krishna'' might be a bit confusing for newbies who might only know us as Hare Krishnas.
Also - it might be worth thinking about the internet searches people will do. Especially newbies/ new devotees. world of krishna sounds a little bit like some kind of online game and might be harder for people googling krishna or krishna forum to find..
maybe something like welcome to the world of Iskcon or something like that ?? sorry i dont have any better suggestions - im really bad at this stuff...
I'm not sure too sure about the 'Welcome to the world of Krishna' sentence, but everything else looks great. The 'info', 'community', etc. links at the top of the page are a good idea, they're clearer and will make it easier for newcomers to the site to find what they're looking for.

This site has serious brand recognition based not only on the graphics, but also on the features and their placement.
Although I think the idea of improving the ergonomics and reducing the busy-ness is a good idea - like, is it necessary to see the 'who's online' in constant view, or could it be a mouse over pop up if someone wanted to know?
Maybe slight ergo tweeks over a period of time, so to not disrupt the logo value!

keep the rolling webcams and recent news the same on the homepage.

Just a tad more colour
I believe that is way too simple, a graphic or something to ease the transition would help nicely - perhaps a lotus flower in the center?
In any case, the layout in itself is a beautiful idea, very easy to read and follow, but it just needs a little more colour. :)
