Hare Krsna prabhu~ Tulasi likes warmth and light, although not so much humidity, as this causes powdery mildew. When natural sunlight isn't available (in winter primarily), use a grow light such as LED or metal halide indoors so She can get the light She needs.
As She is growing, pinch the new growth back occasionally so She becomes bushy instead of "leggy", as this enables Her to make lots of leaves on lots of branches, thereby producing lots of chlorophyll for productions of flowers.
Use kelp meal in small amounts during weekly waterings. Make sure She is planted in a pot with good drainage because She doesn't like "wet feet" (meaning roots in standing water.) Adding a little sand to the potting mix can be helpful. Only use organic foods to fertilize and only fertilize monthly. Make sure you use a formulation higher in phosphorus than nitrogen (i.e. 10-15-5, the 10 is the nitrogen amount, the 15 is the phosphorus amount, and the 5 is the potassium amount) so She can have the energy She needs to produce lots of manjaris.
If mites or other bugs attack Her, you can use a dilute mixture of 1.5 tsp neem oil, 1/4 tsp castile soap, and 1 quart water in a sprayer to spray on Her leaves, especially the undersides.
TULSI Devi is prime consort of lord in the Divine abode. In Goloka and Vrindavana Dham she is the Guardian deity of Raasa Mandala. No one is allowed to enter the Divya Rasa mandala without her permission. In earth her Visible form is the Tulsi Plant. Hence one should keep certain rules in mind while keeping Tulsi in Home.
1. Keep Tulsi free from insects and mites. Do not use chemical insecticides instead try Neem leaves juice or Ash of neem to drive away insects
2. Do not touch plant in impure state of body and mind. Especially during monthly periods in case of women.
3.Worship Tulsi Daily with water and other puja items regularly. if you cannot do more then water it daily and chant following shloka:
4. Do not pluck leaves of Tulsi on Dwadashi and thursday. But if you are worshipping Shaligraam Shila Dailly then you can pluck leaves daily.
5. If possible then perform Tulsi Shaligraam Vivah in the month of Kartika Deepotsava. If possible keep Ghee lamp beside roots of tulsi daily in evening. If not the at least in month of Kartika
