I know it's some kind of basil, but there are so many different kinds of basil. I think it may be 'holy basil' but I'm not sure. Also, would it be appropriate to have a tulasi plant as a focal point in my herb garden? Not for food (I already have two different kinds of basil) but as a focal point .. a special plant. I don't want to offend, I want to honor. I always feel so close to God/Krishna when I'm in my gardens. I would appreciate information on this.
Thank you all,

Hare Krishna dear devotees,
You can find a lot of background information about Tulasi devi and taking care of Tulasi in your house or garden on this site.

All the best :)
Yes definitely, Tulasi makes
Yes definitely, Tulasi makes the home auspicious. She is called the holy basil. Some basic rules are that Tulsi is only for Krishna. She is not meant to make teas out of or something that is used in cooking. When offering food to Krishna one can place a Tulasi leaf on every prep and then one can partake in Tulasi in that way. I have also seen Tulasi incense, that is also not appropriate as well.
