I enjoy listening to kirtans and bhajans of all sorts, and have a very small library of devotee offerings of music. I also enjoy finding various songs and prayers on the Internet. However, as much as I enjoy listening to all of the new and various forms of devotional music, none of it compares to the older recordings of Srila Prabhupada's singing of prayers to Krsna.
I suppose it's like Srila Prabhupada said, that hearing the mantra from the lips of a pure devotee is the only way to hear it. And it just sounds so incredibly sweet and blissful and uplifting and spirititual and vibrant on those recordings from Srila Prabhupada. One in particular, called "Hare Krishna - Classics and Originals", is very potent to me. I can listen to this recording over and over and over and over and it never, ever gets old. In fact, the recording of the Mahamantra on this recording is over 15 minutes long, but I always feel like I could just keep listening to it forever.
Thank you very much, Srila Prabhupada, for giving us a taste of nectar with your wonderful, transcendental voice and allowing us to hear the Mahamantra from the lips of pure devotee. And although you have already left this planet, you have created a legacy for future generations to be fortunate enough to hear this sweet nectar and be uplifted by it!
