CRY

Everyone struggles with their mind and senses when they are trying to chant, to one degree or another.

When you're really struggling it's very helpful to just:

CRY

"The chanting is exactly like the genuine cry of a child for the mother" Srila Prabhupad.

So, cry out to Krishna for His help and mercy. Beg Him to help you. Put your whole heart and soul into this cry, as you chant.

If you do that, you will most likely cry literally for a bit, even sobbing. That's good, it is surrender. You can't continue chanting while you're crying that way of course, but you can get in the proper mood and remember it when you recover.

Then, go on chanting, just crying out to Krishna for help with every mantra, with every word. Do this not just with your voice, but with your heart and soul.

Our minds and senses will drown us if we allow them to.

So cry.
Cry for help, beg for it.
Cry for mercy, beg for it.

It's good to be totally dependent on Krishna.

We are.

So, feel that and cry for help.

Jaya Sri Krishna Chaitanya.

Chanting in helpleesness

Hare Krishna!

I have experienced such chanting. And I can say, chanting with cry, intensifies our chanting.

The mind and senses trouble you and you feel so helpless to control them. When you feel that helplessness automatically you cry and beg Krishna and surrender to the Holy name.

I have also noticed that in distress too, the chanting intensifies and you cry helplessly. And you can easily surrender to the Holy name. That is the reason why, Kunti devi wanted calamities to come again and again, so that she could surrender to Krishna again and again. As Holy name is not different from Krishna Himself, surrender to holy name in such helplessness is as good as surrendering to Krishna.

Yes, Abhishek...

That's very good. It's good to know who it is that can help us.

Krishna.

We always need to remember that.

Haribol

Originally I was going to ask whether it was wise to force ourselves to cry if we didn't even mean it; Krishna would see through it. Now I realise that I should probably cry about the fact that I don't feel like crying.

For Whatever Reason.....

Well... Jaaaay...

Whatever reason you can find to cry for the mercy of Krishna, is a good reason.

If you cry because you don't feel like crying for mercy, then Krishna sees that desire in you, and reciprocates.

Whatever makes you feel totally dependent on the mercy of the Lord......

{*} (that's me giving your soul a hug)
