Hare Krishna!
Thought I would share this wonderful story i heard from a devotee yesterday.Im sure some of the senior devotees would have heard it before.
Once there was a King who went hunting with his minister in the forest. He took his five year old son too with him. After some time, in the noon sun, they became thirsty. The king left his son in a clearing, and went in search of water. When they returned,to the King's dismay, the child was missing. The King and the minister searched everywhere, but could not find find the child. They returned back to the kingdom and send soldiers to search the forest, but to no avail. The King was very sad but there was nothing he could do about it.
Many years passed. The King one day went hunting in the same forest again. He saw a young handsome youth who was dressed in the attire of a bird hunter. But the boy had a certain glow on his face and all features resembling someone from a royal family. The minister told the King: "If your son was alive, He would be around the same age as this boy" The King asked the boy: "who are you boy?".The boy replied: "Im a hunter, your Majesty".The King then asked him: "who is your father?" The boy replied: "He is a hunter." the King asked to meet the hunter. On questioning, the hunter agreed that he had found a boy wandering alone in the forest many years before. So he had taken him with him,and brought him up like his own son.he had no idea that the boy was the King's son.The King was overjoyed on hearing this. He gave the hunter a large amount of money and gifts, and took his son back to the palace with him.
The King in the story is Lord Krishna, the lost son is we, the spirit souls, and the hunter is our biological father.
