We just finished another stage of the Japa Room, this week we were talking about the obstacles in our chanting. I had a realisation afterwards - sharing our spiritual thoughts and experiences with other devotees is such an important part of association and it has the effect of inspiring each other to make more advancement.
When a devotee writes and tells me about the fact that they have started chanting 16 rounds again after attending the Japa Room...or that their Japa has improved by reading articles on the Japa Group...this inspires me and gives me ever increasing faith in the power of the Holy names and the power of glorifying the Holy names.
If you take part in the process of glorifying Krsna and His Holy names it is very purifying and satisfying and beneficial for all.

It's really nice to see the devotees all around the world glorifying the Holy names of the Lord by sincere, attentive & offenseless chanting.
As Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu said in his Sikshastakam,
"ceto-darpaëa-märjanaà bhava-mahä-dävägni-nirväpaëaà
çreyaù-kairava-candrikä-vitaraëaà vidyä-vadhü-jévanam
änandämbudhi-vardhanaà prati-padaà pürëämåtäsvädanaà
sarvätma-snapanaà paraà vijayate çré-kåñëa-saëkértanam"
TRANSLATION
Glory to the Sri-Krsna-Sankirtana, which cleanses the heart of all the dust accumulated for years and extinguishes the fire of conditional life, of repeated birth and death. This sankirtana movement is the prime benediction for humanity at large because it spreads the rays of the benediction moon. It is the life of all transcendental knowledge. It increases the ocean of transcendental bliss, and it enables us to fully taste the nectar for which we are always anxious.
The most important aspect of Japa Meditation is edplained by HDG A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, "is attentive hearing" as Rasa Rasika prabhu said in on eo fhis blog.

Since I started in the japa room , my chanting has changed completely . I am much more commited to my rounds , trying my best to do it before going to work and what is the most important thing, paying attention to the Holy names when chanting , avoiding mispronounciation and for sure getting the mind able to be controlled for the rest of the day .
Wow !! This japa room is a great devotional service and I am sure Srila Prabhupada is pleased with this service .

The chanting of the holy names of Krsna is so sublime that if one chants the Hare Krsna maha-mantra offenselessly,carefully avoiding the ten offenses,he can certainly be gradually elevated to the point of understanding that there is no difference between the holy name of the Lord and the Lord himself.One who has reached such an understanding should be very much respected by neophyte devotees.One should know for certain that without chanting the holy name of the Lord offenselessly,one cannot be a proper candidate for advancement in Krsna consciousness.
Avoiding Offenses
Hare Krsna Vraja Isvari dasi....thankyou for your comments....what you say is important, that we need to avoid the offenses to the Holy names, including the offense of inattention. Iam not sure if you are quoting from scripture here but what you say is very important and relative to our Japa.
