Yes, we are living in the Kali Yuga....however the Kali being worshiped at your local temple is not the same as the Kali of the Kali Yuga.

Kali is the consort of Lord Siva and is often thought of as being a form of Durga or Parvati.
In Tantric and Shakti paths She is believed to be the absolute form of realization as they believe She shows complete detachment. One who is brave enough to worship Her in Her truest (and often scariest) forms is to show bravery, lack of fear and lack of ego. (according to their path)
Not all Kali worshipers follow this. Many do not worship her for realization, instead they often worship for material gain.
She is not evil and at the least should be respected.
