Laptop Japa

It's something that I can easily fall into if Iam not careful, the dreaded "Mouse Japa"...it's a great temptation but I avoid that temptation and just sit back and look at the beautiful image of Lord Caitanya on the LCD screen. Whenever I get any thought of Mouse Japa (bead bag in one hand, mouse in the other), I simply get up and go for a Japa walk.

Of Mice and Computers

I understand Rasa, I really had a huge obstacle going with the computer myself.
Oh, it made perfect sense to me at the time....
Well, I have to chant my rounds really early in the morning because of my schedule.... (I mean before 5:00 am I have to be done, and I have hours of other things I have to do before that time also).
So, I felt so inspired coming here to connect to log on and feel the devotees here awake 'talking' about Krishna.
There's a lot of nice pictures here of Krishna, and Deities, etc.. too.
I had to of course click from time to time just to stay "logged in".
Then, I would look at pictures of Krishna, and go off and chant for a while also, but always come back.
Well, I found out that was really just a huge distraction.
Clicking, staying logged in, looking at various pictures here, all of it, and even stopping in between rounds to read a comment or two, or say something to someone in my guest book....
Seemed quite nice... LOL! Not quality japa however! : )
Now, I avoid the computer entirely while I'm chanting and my japa is much better as a result.

No more mice and computers : ) : ) : )

Love,
Navasi

Overcoming Distractions

It's good to hear about your experiences Navasi....we all can get inspiration from hearing about how devotees overcome their distractions and obstacles in Japa.
