purpose of Krishna.com CONNECT is to connect people with one another,
who are interested in Krishna. Please personalize your profile page
with as much information and photos as you wish to share. This is
your place to be personal. Do you enjoy looking through other
people's profiles on Krishna.com? If yes, then please share a little
about yourself. Replace the generic image with one of you. Add more
images to your own personal gallery. Post a brief life summary in the
"Personal Information" tab. Share some of your interests, needs,
concerns.

Nice.

Now let's add more information.

PERSONAL INFORMATION TAB:

13) Click on "Edit" tab at the top right of your profile page.

14) Click on the "Personal Information" tab.

Choose a nick name for your profile (the name you'll be known by on
the site) and enter some more information about yourself in the
fields provided.

Please fill in the "Country" field so we can at least tell what
country you're in.

NOTE: Do anyonymous profiles with anonymous user names annoy you? If
yes, here's to setting a good example for others. Krishna
consciousness is about developing a personal, loving relationship
with the Supreme Person, Krishna. And there's some truth to the
notion that this personal relationship with God starts with being
personal in our interactions with each other, God's children. So
share a little. Don't be shy. Fill out the Personal Information
section. Do so responsibly, of course. Don't make it easy for
stalkers to find you, for example. Use nick names. Don't post your
phone number or street address. Don't post legal last names, family
names, credit card information, etc.)

Please read and follow the grey text instructions beneath fields that
need them.

INTERESTS and SKILLS

The comma-separated words or phrases of the "Interests" and "Skills"
fields are converted into "tags" automatically by the computer.
Tagging work best when you list your interests and skills as simple,
descriptive words or phrases, separated by commas. Once you've
submitted that page, you will be able to search for others on
Krishna.com who share your interest or skill by clicking on your (or
their) "tags."

Tagging works best if you keep your terms simple and generic. Try to
find one or two keywords, the topic, that best describe each interest
or skill, and separate those keywords by a comma.

For example: Reading, yoga, calligraphy, gardening, book keeping, ...
will produce the best tagged results. You'll easily be able to find
others on Krishna.com who share an interest in those topics.

On the contrary: Reading my favorite books on such and such, yoga in
the morning, calligraphy classes at UF, gardening on weekends, ... is
very nice and descriptive, however the tags become virtually useless
for finding people who typed exactly the same "tag" in their profile.

Is this whole tagging thing starting to make sense? :-)

15) When you're done, click on "Submit" at the bottom of the page.

USER IMAGE GALLERY

Did you know you can add multiple images to your profile's user
gallery? This recent feature addition is probably the best kept
secret among Krishna.com users.

Go ahead and play with it. Add some photos to your gallery.

16) Click on the "[username]'s Gallery" tab in your profile window.

17) Click on the "Add image" tab.

18) In the "Submit Gallery Image" window, browse for an available
image on your computer, click on "Upload"

19) Give the image a descriptive title, and, if you want, a
description in the "Body" field.

20) Press the "Preview" button at the bottom of the page to preview,
scroll to the bottom of the preview page, and press "Submit".

Yeah, we know. Lots of steps to upload a simple image. Luckily we
don't have to build this software from scratch and the Drupal module
that we use for the user image gallery just does what it does. Use at
your own risk :-)

21) Repeat steps 16-20 to add more images to your gallery.

THANK YOU for personalizing your profile on Krishna.com. Now, if you
feel inspired, please encourage others to do the same :-)
