Food food everywhere, not a morsel to eat

During a recent trip around the world, I spent a day visiting Universal Studios, Hollywood with three friends of mine. By early afternoon, we were tired out and scoured our map for the most vegetarian restaurant we could find. On entering, we were delighted to see a buffet-style line with a variety of salads, pasta and pizza.

The girl at the counter filled up our plates with pasta once she’d let us know, none too confidently, that it didn’t contain eggs.

Then the fun really started.

“Do you know if there’s animal rennet in the cheese?” My friend Janmastami asked.

Death isn't the sort of conversation topic that would make you a hit at parties.

Most people in today's society would probably react to it with one of these zingers:

"How morbid."
"Is he a goth? I thought he looked a bit pale."
"Why can't he be more positive? Don't invite him again."

But death is important to consider as we live life. If life is something you learn from, then death is the ultimate test. And if we don't pass it, we just might not make it to the next level.
